A Community Thrives, a program of the Gannett Foundation and the USA TODAY NETWORK, is the Foundation’s largest community-based grant-making initiative offering nonprofit organizations an opportunity to compete for grants and to leverage our national network for crowdfunding.
The A Community Thrives program is a way to share your community building ideas on the national stage, gain support through donations and local connections, and have a chance at receiving a portion of grants to support your program’s success. All organizations may apply for a National Merit Project Grant. Organizations in Gannett Media’s markets will also be considered for a Local Merit General Operating Grant.
In 2019, the Gannett Foundation granted $2,010,000 to support 136 organizations in 92 cities across the country, and an additional $2,513,658 was funded through individual contributions to support 1,525 participating organizations. Check out the national project recipients and the local operating grant recipients here and national grant recipients here. We can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in 2020!
